Bloomers Nursery was established in March 2000 by Larry and Debbie Lawrence. With a degree in accounting from MUW, Debbie's goals hadn't included owning a nursery. But a love of flowers and gardening led to the opening of Bloomers. While Larry works full time at Weyerhaeuser, he spends many of his days off at Bloomers.
From the beginning, family support has maintained Bloomers. The building was built by Larry's uncle, Wayne Duncan. Wayne has also built most of the fun structures on the place including the Hen House and the Pallet House. Larry's mother, Rachel, helped build the business from the bottom up. Debbie's parents, Bobby and Linda Egger have helped with various projects at the nursery. Deb's father, Frank Huckaby, visits from Hernando to help build fences and plant trees. Mac Egger is always on call to help load mulch. Bloomers extended family also includes a staff of friendly and helpful garden enthusiasts, Gloria, Tonya, Jo Ann & Deb Soule. And Bloomers' resident felines, Billy Bob & Moon Pie, will always give you a warm welcome and readily assist with your gardening selections.
At Bloomers you will find everything from your grandmother's favorite flowers to the latest trends in gardening. Azaleas to Zinnia, Bloomers offers an excellent selection of shrubs, treees, and bedding plants. You can find all the Mississippi Medallion Plants at Bloomers. Bloomers also has a fun and funky approach to yard decor - tasteful to eclectic - something for everyone!
Bloomers is a member of the Mississippi Nursery & Landscape Association, MNLA.
"There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling."
